The Momentia Activity Group - for those with Memory Loss and their Allies
So what’s to be done for adult day care in Anacortes as we await developments from the Gentry House and the Skagit Adult Day Program?
To begin to meet that need, the Kiwanis Club of Anacortes is partnering with Lighthouse Memory Care to restart the Momentia Activity Group.
The Momentia Activity Group will hold monthly social gatherings and will also meet twice a week as a walking group for short strolls along the Guemes Channel, Tommy Thompson and Ship Harbor trails.
We recognize that there is no cure for dementia or Alzheimer’s; however, studies suggest that strong social ties can help ward off the advance of the disease. The Momentia Activity Group—made up of people with memory loss and their allies—is one means of keeping all of us connected to each other and active in the community.
